Katmandu: Age of Artifacts™

Age of Artifacts is a competitive, two-player trading card game that’s part of the exciting world of Katmandu. The goal is to defeat your enemy’s Champion. To accomplish that, all you need to do is damage that Champion’s life force to zero.
The game has three lanes of combat and a unique resource called Artifacts. Players can choose to place “Units” in one of the three lanes each turn, cast spells (which require that enough artifacts be available as a resource), or ‘challenge,’ which activates a card draw and escalates the chance of combat. When both players consecutively ‘challenge,’ combat begins and is resolved from the priority lane marker first, then through the middle lane, then through the last lane.
The game launched with one starter kit that includes two 40-card Champion decks – Boro the Great Guardian and Eldred the Omniscient – as well as two playmats, a rulebook, and a priority lane marker.
Aggression is the name of the game with Boro’s deck. Players deal damage as quickly as possible without compromising defenses by combining powerful creatures like the Yeti Guardian and Hometown Hero with direct damage effects like Radiant Blast and Ether Shaper to overwhelm the opponent. Eldred the Omniscient's deck is all about mastering life and death to bring about a perfectly planned endgame. Drain effects like the Little Stinker and Maktavan Cleric turn the opponent's life pool into yours, giving the time this deck needs to set up incredibly dangerous combo pieces like the gem-hungry Crucial PawnBot or the deadly Unspeakable Horror.
Age of Artifacts is a mainstream card game for players ten years of age and older. On average, games last for about 15 minutes. The card art draws inspiration from the fantasy genre, and each card features a bit of backstory on the character. Those characters live within the Katmandu IP, so playing the game either introduces players to Katmandu or allows fans of the brand to further immerse themselves in the lore.
