Through its I~STAND initiative, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is taking a stand against sexual harassment and sexual assault and building a culture of safety, empowerment, and advocacy that supports and empowers survivors of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

The I~STAND brand is an important part of this initiative, designed to capture the hearts and minds of VA employees and Veterans whose active support and engagement are essential to preventing sexual harassment and sexual assault at VA.

At its core, I~STAND is about the human experience—recognizing the myriad events, people, and interactions that together form our personal and collective stories. In envisioning this important initiative, VA has embraced the concept of the thread. This thread represents our journey through life—past, present, and future. It highlights the invisible connections that unite us and speaks to the shared experiences we weave with every interaction.

Through thoughtful, cohesive message architecture, logo, brand colors, typography, graphics, and imagery, the I~STAND brand guide establishes the significance of the thread and emphasizes the importance of connection and support in telling the I~STAND story and elevating broad awareness about sexual harassment and assault prevention at VA.

Titan Alpha worked closely with VA’s Office of Resolution Management, Diversity & Inclusion to conceive, design, and launch the I~STAND brand.
