The Taiwan Lantern Festival in Tainan was in a huge venue. The event combines many large-scale lanterns as the highlights of the international tourism event. The work, "Embracing the Mountains and the Sea" is combined with two dragons as a symbol of blessing. The 40-meter-long giant lantern set with lights and fireworks allows visitors to stop or pass under the dragons that serve as a gate.
The work is inspired by the mountains and the sea. The golden dragon and the water dragon symbolize Taiwan's land and sea respectively, showing the topography and cultural diversity. Symbolically, the blessings of the five elements are integrated into the design, combining them with the 2024 Year of the Wooden Dragon. The golden dragon and the water dragon demonstrated the cultural significance and blessing that gold begets water and water begets wood. The stunning lantern set is characterized by its unprecedented length and production challenges to demonstrate the designer's precise planning and assembly capabilities.
