o Fear about battery technology has long been cited as the key barriers to more widespread adoption of electric vehicles. To address these concerns and inspire consumers to consider incorporating electrification into their lives, Kia wanted to create an experience that helped consumers understand the benefits of electrification and image an EV as part of their lives. The Connected Home demonstrated the all-electric Kia EV9’s bidirectional vehicle-to-home (V2H) charging capabilities. For properly equipped homes (such as the Connected Home), the EV9 can reverse its energy flow from the vehicle to the home, powering a variety of devices and appliances in the face of a power outage.
o The Kia Connected Home™ is a sleek, modern two-story structure just outside of the main hall at CES 2024. This space was designed to introduce showgoers to Kia’s future vision for electrification while providing a tranquil respite from the busy show floor. The Connected Home demonstrated the all-electric Kia EV9’s bidirectional vehicle-to-home (V2H) charging capabilities and highlighted Kia’s design philosophy — Opposites United. By pairing geometric shapes with natural materials like wood and water, the Connected Home was at once modern, inviting and uniquely on brand. Some special features of the booth included:
VIP outdoor patio including a custom coffee bar.
Custom containers as the base of the structure.
Water feature
Analog displays: a glass-encased “jewelry box” used in the Innovative Materials showcase.
Environmental ambient sounds, birds chirping in the camping area, spa music in the seating areas
Led lights that visually exhibit the transfer of energy from the vehicle to the “home”.
an immersive EV9 simulator and recently unveiled Concept EV3 and Concept EV4 models.
The space was a resounding success, drawing crowds of CES
