2024 Yunlin West Ocean Music Festival
The early years saw San Tiao Lun Beach as the only seawater swimming spot in central Taiwan. It was also the first dam-type swimming pool in the country. However, with the passage of time, the facility aged, operations declined year by year, and eventually, it became an abandoned ruin.
In recent years, efforts have been made to revitalize San Tiao Lun Beach. Yunlin's first "Yunxi Ocean Music Festival" series of activities have gained widespread acclaim. The 2024 Yunxi Ocean Music Festival, spanning four days, attracted over 100,000 participants, breaking the 2022 record of 100,000 participants over six days. This not only demonstrates the success of the revitalization strategy but also offers the public a new creative tourism experience along the coastal line.
The 2024 "Yunlin West Ocean Music Festival" will integrate the summer activities of the Yunxi Corridor to create a new summer event brand for Yunlin. Guided by the United Nations SDGs, the festival will emphasize global citizenship education, ecosystem protection, sustainable tourism promotion, and the reduction of marine pollution. The festival will feature a wide range of activities, including music performances, handicraft markets, SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) experiences, forest exploration, live DJ music, and dance classes, offering visitors an immersive experience that combines music, dance, and adventure.
In contrast to past summer events in Yunlin, which were held separately, The 2024 Yunlin West Ocean Music Festival will unite the activities along the Yunxi Corridor into a summer series brand for Yunlin. The event will also align with the UN's 17 SDG indicators, incorporating specific goals such as "4.7 Global Citizenship Education for Sustainable Development," "6.6 Protecting Water-related Ecosystems," "8.9 Promoting Sustainable Tourism," and "14.1 Reducing Marine Pollution." Through these planned initiatives, the festival aims to highlight Yunlin's commitment to sustainable tourism and present the public with a fresh new image of green tourism. The overall style is refreshing, seamlessly integrating the natural and sustainable landscapes of the Yunlin area while declaring the intent to create the most outstanding summer music festival featuring both marine and forest activities!
