Due to the ongoing societal issues reported in the news every day, which primarily stem from the fact that many Thai people do not understand their rights and thus violate the rights of others, the ‘Know Your Rights, Don’t Lose Them’ project aims to raise awareness and understanding of human rights among Thai citizens, as well as to foster respect for others' rights. Additionally, it seeks to inform people about the role of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand.
“We have found that for Thai citizens, the concept of rights is often seen as distant and difficult to grasp. Therefore, we structured the communication in this project to focus on human rights issues that are closer to everyday life, emphasizing frequent communication. We aim to communicate on a monthly basis, framing it like a news topic, to build a lasting image of the NHRC. The primary target audience is netizens (Thai people on social media) since they already possess some knowledge about rights and are willing to share that knowledge with others. Beyond netizens, we believe this project can also reach people interested in rights and those who may not have previously cared about these issues.
Over the four-month duration of the project, we plan to address four key topics, focusing on children's rights, rights in the justice process, and human rights in general. We will begin by posing questions such as: What rights do we have? What rights have we lost? And what rights are violated in our daily lives? This led to the core concept of the project, Know Your Rights, Don’t Lose Them
