Holden Ellis partnered with Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) to create
Your Call, a campaign designed to inspire prospective students and elevate CCAD’s presence on social media. Through a blend of motion design and illustration, we transformed authentic student voicemails into visually compelling narratives, making the campaign a standout example of how storytelling can thrive in a digital space.
At the heart of the campaign were two videos—You’re Good and Do Something—crafted to engage audiences across CCAD’s social platforms.
In You’re Good, a student recounted the life-changing advice of her professor, Ernie: “You’re good.” Ernie encouraged her to push through creative struggles, reminding her that perseverance would lead to progress. This heartfelt voicemail became the foundation for a bold motion graphics video, with dynamic visuals and fluid animations that brought Ernie’s message of resilience to life. On social media, the video resonated deeply with viewers, sparking conversations about persistence and creativity.
Do Something took a different approach, featuring advice from another student who urged incoming students to “do everything. Be a part of something.” Her voicemail celebrated the importance of connection and involvement. To capture this sentiment, Holden Ellis created a richly illustrated and animated video, blending vibrant visuals with detailed hand-drawn elements. The result was a visually engaging piece that encouraged prospective students to imagine themselves as part of CCAD’s dynamic community.
Both videos were optimized for social media, leveraging storytelling and visually striking design to capture attention in scrolling feeds. They not only showcased CCAD’s culture but also invited prospective students to engage, share, and connect with the brand.
Your Call succeeded in transforming authentic student voices into impactful social content, driving meaningful engagement and expanding CCAD’s reach. By combining creativity, storytelling, and platform-savvy design, Holden Ellis delivered a campaign that not only highlighted CCAD’s values but also redefined how colleges can connect with audiences in the digital age.
This campaign stands as a testament to the power of storytelling on social media, where authentic voices paired with expert design can create lasting impact.
