NBCUniversal and State Farm joined forces to help support and uplift the minority owned small business community. Our multi-platform, bilingual campaign provided valuable information to help small business owners grow their businesses.
Our Virtual Marketing & Creative Playbook (NBCUOpenDoors.com and NBCUAbriendoCaminos.com) was the hub of this program. Our site provided SBOs with Marketing 101 downloadable resources, NBCUniversal small business themed editorial content, resources from our partner State Farm as well as an original short docuseries and a new podcast hosted by Aaron Walton.
We tapped into the expertise of employees across NBCU to share their knowledge and expertise with SBO, writing best practices and best practices for a variety of topics.....written specifically with small business owners in mind. Topics covered:

• Best practices for social media
• Best practices for logo design
• How to buy Local Media
• And more…..
An original documentary short series, Small Business Owners’ Stories, featuring the empowered minority entrepreneurs who worked hard to build successful business and the State Farm agents who were by their side every step of the way. The four episode series featuring actual small business owners ran during relevant cultural awareness month like Black History, Hispanic Heritage, Women’s and Black Music Months. The pieces were accompanied by featured articles penned by the NBCU News Brand Studios inclusive of Q&A’s with the protagonists of the stories and insurance agent tips for small businesses.
Curated editorial content from NBCU’s ecosystem (CNBC, Telemundo and NBC) and relevant materials and articles provided by State Farm, gave additional information for small business owners.
Additionally, we partnered with multicultural advertising innovator, AAF Advertising Hall of Fame inductee, and small business owner Aaron Walton, CEO of Walton Isaacson, to create blogs and podcasts that delve into the challenges small business owners face on their journey to success while showcasing real-life strategies and insights needed for growth.
