Empowering Chemical Technical Professionals

Chemical technical professionals (CTPs) are specialists who carry out vital support roles in the chemical industry and academic research. Much of the CTP workforce is expected to retire soon, creating staffing challenges for the chemical industry.

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has been taking the lead to raise awareness about the need for more CTPs. The Empowering Chemical Technical Professionals Discovery Report was an in-depth resource that explored the importance of CTPs and the opportunities for young people entering the profession.

This report was paired with an interactive quiz that encouraged students to explore CTP careers and posters that were designed for use in science classrooms.
