“THE NUTCRACKER SUITE & SPICY” is a fun, modern spin on the classical Nutcracker ballet created, choreographed, and directed by Carolyn Paine. The holiday favorite is updated with a diverse cast, dynamic choreography, and a sense of humor to make it a truly unique, relatable, and appealing show. In 2024, the concept was pushed even further by collaborating with Emmy-winning filmmaker and immersive artist, Ryan Glista to integrate projected video design into the dance and the story to dynamically transport the audience with visual effects-almost as if they were experiencing an animated dance film come to life. This made the production on the vanguard of how performing arts and technology can come together to create an immersive theatrical experience unlike anything else out there, even in larger budget productions.
