Helix set out to create a film that gives form to something few ever see: the silent struggle of a ventilated patient battling hypercapnia and acidosis - and the quiet precision of a therapy designed to help. At its heart, this is a story about balance, both biological and visual: the shifting of CO₂, the return of rhythm, the interplay between internal physiology and external intervention.
We begin in the ICU, where stillness and urgency coexist, before descending into the patient’s lungs - a delicate world of collapsed alveoli, dead space, and halted exchange.
From here, we introduce the solution: Vantive’s ECCO2R therapy, rendered not only through its physical components but through its impact at the molecular level.
