Rust Sequence

This portfolio features a curated presentation of my 2024 series, “Rust Sequence”, which consists of four individual works in the mediums of mixed-media painting, sculpture, and installation. Unified by the use of rust as the primary material and medium, the series investigates diverse conceptual themes.
Work 01: Iron Age
This piece employs a rubbing technique to transfer the shapes of antique ironware onto fabric, examining the evolving historical significance of the "Iron Age."
Work 02: Lace Collection
This work presents a series of textural paintings created by merging lace patterns with rust formations.
Work 03: When My Wound Began to Rust
It draws a parallel between wound healing and the oxidation of iron, exploring their similarities and the temporal transformation of bodily scars.
Work 04: A Man with Tetanus
Inspired by tetanus, this piece investigates the relationship between superficial wounds and bacteria found in rust.
The layout of this portfolio arranges these four works sequentially to achieve a cohesive final presentation that underscores their conceptual and material dialogues.
