The 2025 Taoyuan Tung Blossom Festival presents “Tung Blossom & Fairy Tale,” Hakka pronunciation is "tungˇ faˊ tungˇ fa".
Taiwan’s first and only Tung Blossom Carnival specially designed for children. Spanning five regions of Taoyuan, the festival offers immersive blossom-viewing experiences across three celebration hubs —Taoyuan City Hakka Cultural Park, Longtan district, and Yangmei district — complemented by seven themed jaunt that invite families to explore the poetic “Three Chapters of Tung Blossom,” uncovering the fairytale charm of Taoyuan’s Hakka heritage. Through a child’s playful lens, it reinterprets Tung Blossom and Hakka culture with unplugged concerts, mascot meetups, fun challenges, tea sessions, DIY crafts, and stamp hunts—making tradition fun to learn.it transforms Hakka heritage into an imaginative fairytale world of blossoms, folklore, and joyful family experiences.
As one of Taiwan’s most vibrant Hakka cultural centers, Taoyuan City continues to nurture a youthful, creative, and dynamic cultural identity. Each April and May, the blooming “May Snow” of tung blossoms transforms the landscape into a spectacular scene and a vital bridge between Hakka culture and tourism.
The festival’s visual identity adopts a whimsical and storybook-like design style — featuring anthropomorphic tung blossoms, bright pastel hues, and mythical forest motifs — accented with Hakka guardian spirits such as "Earth God"( bagˋ gungˊ ) and cloth horses( bu maˊ eˋ). This creates a joyful, immersive atmosphere that invites children to step into a fantasy world where Hakka culture, art, and nature harmoniously intertwine.Through creative cultural education and tourism experiences, the festival not only allows children to appreciate the beauty of tung blossoms but also fosters the intergenerational transmission of Hakka traditions.
