About The Entry
UBS Craftmakers is a global short film series created to reposition a financial institution within contemporary culture.
In a category dominated by corporate messaging and rational proof points, UBS recognised that cultural relevance is earned through shared values and authentic storytelling. To resonate with the audiences shaping the future of wealth, from entrepreneurs and HENRYs to women and next generation clients, UBS needed to move beyond financial language and enter the worlds these audiences already inhabit.
The insight was that mastery transcends industry. Whether in sport, fashion, music or finance, excellence is defined by discipline, judgement, obsession with detail and long term dedication. UBS Craftmakers set out to explore these cultural codes of mastery through intimate film.
Each episode profiles an individual who has shaped modern culture through their craft. From Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, to stylist and cultural icon June Ambrose, conductor Maestro Long Yu and designer Guo Pei, the series captures defining moments behind elite performance and the mindset required to sustain it.
The films are cinematic, human and reflective. UBS does not position itself as the protagonist. Instead, it aligns with the philosophy of the Craftmaker, connecting banking to culture through shared standards rather than claims.
Designed for contemporary distribution, the series was built to travel across digital platforms, creating conversation beyond traditional financial audiences.
The cultural impact was tangible. The Lewis Hamilton episode became UBS’s best performing reel of all time, sparking widespread engagement across sport, fashion and finance communities.
UBS Craftmakers demonstrates that financial services can participate meaningfully in culture, not by appropriating it, but by respecting and amplifying the stories of those who define it.
Through film, UBS repositioned itself from a corporate voice in finance to a brand capable of engaging with modern mastery on equal terms.
