The name Drinkcast is a phonetic nod to the 1998 Sega console Dreamcast—a moment in time when the world stood on the edge of the Y2K millennium bug. In Taiwan, this was also the era when hand-shaken drinks began to flourish, becoming an everyday ritual shared across generations. A cup in hand became a symbol of youth, habit, and cultural rhythm.
Bruce Lee once said, “Be water.”Water takes the shape of whatever container it is poured into. In the same way, each person is like water—carrying different flavors, thoughts, emotions, and identities within. What you choose to pour in defines what it becomes. This idea is embodied in the character’s head, designed as a transparent hand-shaken drink cup—a vessel for self-projection, a symbolic container for one’s inner world.
The character draws lineage from the American urban legend Siren Head and the Japanese manga Chainsaw Man, both of which explore the fusion of objectified heads with the human body. By blending this concept with street culture and the free-spirited aesthetics of designer toys, Drinkcast exists as a reminder: In a constantly shifting world. Stay fluid. Stay true to yourself.
