About The Entry

In urban express delivery, traffic accidents involving delivery personnel have become increasingly prevalent due to violations (e.g., misuse of electric vehicles), fatigue driving, and congestion. According to statistics, in 2025 over, there were 223,000 traffic accidents in China, resulting in 5,800 deaths and 251,000 injuries. To alleviate this safety problem, an unmanned urban express delivery system utilizing new-energy vehicles has emerged as a viable alternative to manual delivery. This system features two core vehicle types:
Large unmanned delivery vehicles:
Designed for trunk and transfer transport, these vehicles move bulk parcels from sorting centers to regional distribution stations.
Small unmanned food delivery vehicles:
Specialized for last-mile service, they deliver meals directly from merchants to residential addresses.
Key Technologies Powering the System
The system relies on three foundational technologies:
Autopilot:
Equipped with high-precision positioning, multi-sensor fusion, and spatio-temporal decision-making capabilities, vehicles can perceive their environment, plan routes, and navigate safely in complex urban conditions.
Cargo management:
Real-time communication with backend systems enables automated loading and unloading. Users receive arrival notifications via mobile apps, with voice or screen prompts guiding them to retrieve packages. Cargo compartments are designed to resist theft and damage.
Intelligent scheduling and monitoring:
A central platform assigns tasks, optimizes routes, and monitors vehicles in real time (tracking location, speed, and battery status). Abnormalities—such as mechanical faults or route deviations—trigger immediate intervention, while data analysis drives operational improvements.
Diverse Application Scenarios
The system excels in various urban contexts:
Residential communities:
Facilitates last-mile delivery to doorsteps, with residents notified via mobile apps.
Urban main roads and logistics parks:
Large vehicles handle trunk transport, avoiding peak-hour congestion. Some cities deploy them for short-haul "micro-circulation" networks between main and secondary roads.
Commercial centers and office buildings:
Contactless delivery reduces labor costs and aligns with demand for safety.
Campuses and industrial parks:
Fixed routes optimize express and takeaway delivery (enhancing efficiency and reducing electric vehicle hazards) and support warehouse-to-production line transport.
By integrating autonomous driving, new-energy technology, and intelligent delivery, this system enhances operational efficiency and safety, serving as a critical supplement to traditional urban express networks.
