About The Entry
The Texas Rangers wanted to do something permanent inside Globe Life Field — not signage, not a graphic wrap, but an actual installation that meant something to the people walking past it. The concept: a wall displaying nearly 200 hats from local high school teams across the region, fabricated from scratch and built to live inside the stadium long after opening day.
STAR handled the project as a full environmental build. That started with engineering and constructing a custom structural wall capable of supporting the display at scale while holding up visually against the Globe Life Field interior. From there, the team sourced and coordinated hats from local organizations throughout the area, integrated top and bottom lighting to make each hat legible from a distance, and added a digital kiosk so fans could search for their school and find it on the wall. The whole installation had to land during a narrow window between major stadium events. It did.
The finished wall holds 189 hats. It earned television coverage during All-Star Game broadcasts, which pushed its reach well beyond the stadium. The response from the community was the more telling signal: high schools that hadn't been included started reaching out after it went up, asking to be part of it. That kind of reaction doesn't come from a graphic. It comes from something that feels genuinely local, genuinely considered, and built to stay.
For the Rangers, the wall does what the best branded environments do. It gives fans a reason to stop, look for themselves, and feel like the team is paying attention to where they actually come from.
