Total Defence Exercise SG Ready

"How do you make Singapore imagine a crisis that has not happened and make it feel real enough to prepare for?
Created as the scenario film for Exercise SG Ready 2026, Are You Ready For Disruptions? builds a fictional national crisis around prolonged power outages and degraded digital connectivity, setting the narrative context for an islandwide Total Defence exercise.
Rather than explaining preparedness through a conventional public-service film, we approached the project as a cinematic crisis narrative. What begins with geopolitical uncertainty progressively enters everyday Singapore: power grids falter, digital services fail, communications become unreliable and misinformation begins to spread. As the situation escalates, disruption moves from inconvenience to uncertainty, division and physical threat.
The production combined live-action filmmaking, visual effects, news-style storytelling and generative AI to create events at a scale that could not practically be staged. Familiar environments and recognisable everyday situations ground the fictional scenario in reality, while the expanding visual scale gives audiences a sense of how interconnected disruptions can cascade across a nation.
The film ultimately served beyond storytelling. It established the shared fictional reality behind Exercise SG Ready 2026, providing context for simulated disruptions conducted across Singapore and turning an abstract question about preparedness into something audiences could see, feel and imagine themselves experiencing.
The question at the heart of the film is deliberately simple: Are you ready for disruptions?"
