Faces is a leading beauty retailer in the Gulf Cooperation Council with 20 years of presence in the market spanning 85 stores across 9 countries along with a strong online presence. As the region’s pioneers in beauty retail, Faces seek to create real emotional connections in every beauty moment. To elevate the experience within their Dubai Mall of Emirates flagship store, Faces enlisted London-based creative innovation studio, HOLITION to create Faces’ Store of the Future. Working with natural consumer choreography in retail, we created a ‘digital playground’ that features: Fragrance Bar: A personalised tool to help customers discover which fragrance is right for them or to help them find a gift for someone special. Test Bar: A phygital ‘test and play’ approach to a connected shelf, empowering customers to creatively learn about ingredients, customer reviews & packaging information for products they interact with. Gift Wizard: An interactive display that uses personality diagnostics to help users find the right gift for a specific occasion. Magic Mirror: The easiest way to ‘try before you buy’, powered by FACE by Holition™ (Holition’s hyper-realistic augmented reality software) is an experiential trip into the world of virtual cosmetics, allowing users to try digital makeup looks, take a selfie, share it and obtain essential product information through an Instagrammable format. These technologies aid in addressing pain points concerning time, knowledge, and expertise. Since its deployment, Faces’ new Store of the Future enabled seamless interactions between sales and beauty assistants and consumers with an 87% increase of sales tools adopted by beauty assistants. Beauty is all about the exchange of tips, inspiration, and expertise, and the technologies that Faces have implemented within their stores has enabled them to transcend into more than just an average beauty retailer. This combinatory aspect of technology and human experience is what makes Faces’ Store of the Future both unique and exciting. By adding a new sensorial layer to the shopping experience, Faces is now able to meet the ever-changing demands of their customers which made the experience more dynamic, efficient and engaging.
