STARSHIP

Working as a fashion and beauty retoucher for 8 years, I wanted to update my portfolio with futuristic conceptual images rarely seen in magazines.
Finding a photographer with the same vision of the project and concept was quite a challenge.
But I was lucky, so I collaborated with fashion photographer Alexander Croft.
This is how the “Starship” editorial retouching project was created.

This editorial was taken in one of the photo studios in Saint Petersburg.
Hall "Cosmos" is a white stylized space decorated with a full-sized copy of R2D2. This hall is an imitation of a real spaceship, so it has a white glossy floor and LED lighting.

I retouched this editorial using non-destructive retouching techniques (including Dodge&Burn technique). All images are color graded to match the triad color scheme (blue/green/red). The selected color scheme makes the photographer's concept pop up.

As the result, the “Starship” project was selected and featured on the Behance main page and now it has a "Featured in Fashion Retouching" category badge. The project also received Creativepool's Annual 2021 Bronze Award in the Photography category.
