Describing himself as a visual artist and a creative technologist, Noel Apitta is the visionary behind Scarlet Motiff. He enjoys telling impactful stories through the lens of technology—with a focus on abstract real-time computer graphics.

Scarlet Motiff's tools of the trade to generate his code-based art include programming languages such as Python and real-time programming visual language TouchDesigner. In addition, Ableton Live is his go-to software for music creation. He's always on the lookout for new ways to translate the narratives of our analogue world into the digital tongue.
DUNE GATE evokes a crossroads between two worlds: a bridge that connects the foundations and ideas of the present and the horizons that stretch out into the future before us. The freestanding LED video wall draws its inspiration from phenomena such as refraction, which occurs when light waves pass through two elements with a different density (for example, air and glass or a camera lens). In DUNE GATE, the viewer finds him or herself at the centre of this process: its opaque and transparent LED panels can be manipulated, so that the surroundings change as visitors move around through the installation, actively becoming part of the artwork.
