The Battery Cell Manufacturing Insights event marked the official start of production of the new battery cells at the Cell Manufacturing Competence Center (CMCC) in Parsdorf. The commencement of production represents a major milestone for the BMW Group. These state-of-the-art battery cells, produced in Parsdorf, are scheduled for integration into the Neue Klasse, starting in 2025.
The official start of production event, held in the halls of the CMCC and attended by both national and international journalists, was a spectacle of innovation and celebration.
Colorful uplights adorned the industrial hall, infusing it with a warm and inviting ambiance, while the darkened windows directed everyone's attention towards the stage for the key presentation.
Guided by tape art, guests were led to the stage area, where they witnessed the symbolic insertion of the first battery cell into a specially crafted cube. As it was placed, an oversized representation appeared on the screen, its pulsating rhythm accelerating, enveloping the guests completely and sparking a mesmerizing display of light and imagery on the expansive LED backdrop. This exceptional kick-off moment in a distinctive setting offered attendees valuable insights into BMW's new battery cell manufacturing plant. The dimmed hall intensified the interplay of light, sound, and media content on the large screen, culminating in a truly immersive experience.
Prior to the official kick-off, a brief panel discussion featuring department heads set the stage, followed by a speech by Milan Nedeljkovic, Member of the Management Board, Production of BMW. A short film showcasing the production process featured various employees speaking about their roles, providing an overview of the entire facility. Following the main event, guests were offered a range of interactive options including workshops on recycling, guided tours of the battery cell production facility, and engaging discussions with department heads during lunch. Each of these activities was designed to foster interactivity, exchange, and communication among participants.
This project marked the start of a great collaboration between SCHACHZUG aka THESE GUYS and BMW. The project's efficient execution was greatly facilitated by the flexibility and open communication among project teams.
