Save the Children Hong Kong crafts a short clip, "Sound of Violence", raising awareness about violence against children. Globally, it is estimated that as many as 1 billion children between the ages of 2 and 17 have encountered abuse, within the past year. In Hong Kong, there has been a worrisome upward trend of over 50% in the number of child abuse cases in 2023.
Therefore, Save the Children Hong Kong cooperated with agency, Cheil Hong Kong, to create a 3D video which highlight the stark contrast between the innocence of children and the harsh reality of violence against children, to arouse the attention of all sectors of society on the protection of children. The video also incorporates Dolby Atmos 7.1 technology to mimic the sounds in a child abuse scenario, enabling audience to feel the intensity and impact of the situation. At the end of the video, after evoking audience’s empathy, the video included a strong call-to-action, encouraging the public to lend a helping hand to children in need and to report suspected child abuse cases.
In April 2024, Save the Children Hong Kong lined up with cinema line to launch public screening of video in Hong Kong for 3 weeks. With the on-site equipment, audiences can fully experience the immersive impact of the 3D visuals and Dolby Atmos 7.1 sound effects. Calculating the reach number from offline and online channels, this video reaches 100k+ target audiences and drive positive changes to the society and to children's lives.
