The AgeTech Collaborative™ from AARP is leading a global mission to improve people’s lives as they age. They bring together a one-of-a-kind ecosystem of leading startups, forward-thinking investors, enlightened enterprises and creative testbeds, all working to bring groundbreaking AgeTech innovations to market. In January 2025, the AgeTech Collaborative showed up at CES (formerly the Consumer Electronics Show) with a booth spanning 12,800 square feet featuring 24 tech startups, a pickleball court and a booth stage area that could seat 80+ people.
When entering the AgeTech Collaborative booth, attendees meet Proto holograms of three personas that face various health/life conditions. There were three large and six small holographic devices placed throughout the space. Attendees could check in with each persona to see how they were navigating health/life conditions with the help of AgeTech startups. Along with the onsite holographic personas a web app was developed that could be scanned with a QR code and a paper journey map was available.
To create a welcoming and engaging environment, the startup pavilion space was set up like a marketplace, with dedicated demo areas. A mixture of standard and custom-built tables was used throughout the space, making the tech accessible, while saving money. Frosted plexiglass and slatted wood walls enclosed the space providing light and visibility. Each startup had a dedicated table that was wrapped with a word cloud design, that acted as signage while keeping open sightlines in the space.
