About The Entry
This film is not about a meat company. It's not about a subscription box. It's not about a business model.
It's about a woman named Lauren, a farm, and a vision that started with a simple question: "Why is it so hard to find good quality pork that tastes the way it should?"
What began in 2010 as one woman's dream of a paddock full of happy, free-range pigs has grown into something far bigger. Lauren's farm is now a 200-acre regenerative farming operation raising heritage Berkshire pigs and pastured chickens, operating an on-farm butchery, running a community-supported agriculture program, and supplying some of Australia's best restaurants and of course, ButcherCrowd.
But this story is not just about what Lauren does. It's about why she does it — and why it matters more now than ever.
This documentary takes you inside Lauren's Farm. You'll see the pigs roaming free across red soil paddocks, the chickens foraging in the grass, the wetlands teeming with birdlife, and the soil that Lauren has spent 16 years nurturing back to health.
You'll hear her talk about the challenges of regenerative farming — and the extraordinary rewards. You'll learn why she refuses to sell to the big supermarkets, why she believes the Australian food system is broken, and why she thinks the answer to better health, better food, and a better future is right beneath our feet.
This is a film about hope. About the courage to do things differently. About the belief that farming can be — and should be — a force for good.
ButcherCrowd began producing the Farming For Good series because we are 100% invested in Australian farmers and fixing the broken Australian food system.
Food For Good has already reached thousands of viewers across Australia and the world and begun engaging them in the conversation about how their food is grown and what it costs to do it right.
