The Brief was for a National Contest of the new logotype for SETMA, Municipal Secretariat of Tourism and Environment of Jijoca de Jericoacoara.
The city of Jijoca de Jericoacoara is one the most beautiful, natural places in the world. The environment and the incredible sense of freedom, all linked to nature, appropriating the natural wonders of the municipality to represent in a design everything that offers its tourists and residents.
The logotype of SETMA, Municipal Secretariat of Tourism and Environment, main creative challenge was to find a way to be simple, harmonious, but representative of the whole city and their five most famous and visited places: the Blue lagoon, Serrote, Pedra Furada (Pierced Stone), Sea and the iconic Sunset in the Dunes.
The main insight was to unify all these elements using a design that represents the frequency, harmony and balance between all the natural beauty and the transcendent experience that the municipality provides for all people who enjoy the unique and wonderful moments of joy, happiness and peace. The Sine waves that can represent everything, as the frequency of life. We are all made of energy waves that resonate with each other and with our environment
The logo features the five colorful natural elements that unify and represent the city of Jijoca de Jericoacoara, from the Blue Lagoon, Serrote, Pedra Furada (Pierced Stone), the Sea and the iconic Sunset in the Dunes. We turned these elements into icons and unified into sine curves, overlaping the elements and connecting them as nature is. An extremely expressive brand, but light and harmonious. A visual representation of a paradise.
The design was the winner of the National Contest for the SETMA logotype, which from that moment began to use it in events for the Secretariat and the Municipality. The logo was widely accepted in the community, which had its vote declared during the Contest. The logo also won the A'Design Award 19 in Milan, the Prêmios Lusófonos of Creativity 2019 in Lisbon and the 10th WOLDA - Worldwide Logo Design Award, with Best of Show.
