Kenzie Goodall is a young baker and entrepreneur opening a bakery called Sugar Suite Cakes & Confections that serves gluten-free, peanut-free and vegan options. Her cakes are highly artistic and are detailed in execution with an overall luxury feel. Her extensive training includes her BFA from York University, then furthered her education at Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) along with pastry training at Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts and Le Cordon Bleu. She also acquired hands-on training in bakeries at a young age combining her skills and creative passions to create delicious works of art. The goal was to produce a logo that incorporates feminine embellishments and fine detail. Being a past art student, Kenzie showed me images she liked that were intricate and art nouveau in style, but modern in approach. She also requested that the logo resemble "organic" and "natural" which is why I decided to make the "S" in the logo out of a stylized, etched foliage. This was carried throughout her branding assets. The logo took a 3-step process; brainstorm/sketch, proofs and refinement stages. There were various versions produced for multiple application purposes but still has the stylized "S" logo mark throughout.
